Convicted Killer Serving Life Dies in California Prison | California News
DELANO, Calif. (AP) — A California prisoner serving a life sentence for homicide died Friday after he was discovered injured in a cell he shared with one other convicted killer, authorities stated.
Abraham Morales, 37, was discovered unresponsive in the Kern Valley State Prison cell he shared with Charles Ramirez, 44, jail officers stated.
He was pronounced lifeless inside the hour.
The demise is being investigated as a murder and Ramirez was faraway from the scene, the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation stated in a press release.
Morales was despatched to jail in 2010 and was serving a life sentence with out chance of parole. He was convicted in Ventura County of first-degree homicide with the intentional discharge of a firearm inflicting nice bodily harm or demise.

Ramirez was imprisoned in 2014 following his Orange County conviction for first-degree homicide with the intentional discharge of a firearm inflicting nice bodily harm or demise. He was serving a life sentence however with the potential of parole. He was sentenced in August to a further seven years for assault with a lethal weapon contained in the jail, authorities stated.
